The Ignore list

Overview

The Ignore list is a feature you can use to permanently exclude files (or folders) from any subsequent duplicate scans.

This has several uses, for instance:
-Whitelisting files you are happy to keep as duplicates
-Skipping folders that you never want to appear in a scan

Files or folders specified in the ignore list will not be included as part of the scan.  They won't appear in the Remaining/Uniques results either.  Any files/folders which have been skipped will appear in the log file.

Enabling the Ignore list

You can enable the Ignore list on the Scan location tab.

Adding files or folders

You can add files or folders to the Ignore list from the duplicate files results table - right click on a file and select one of the following commands in the context menu:

Editing the Ignore list

The ignore list is stored as a plain text file.  If you click on the edit button (in the scan location tab, next to the setting) it will open the file in your default text editor.  You can add and delete lines.  If the file is deleted the program will create an empty file.

Example file:
C:\Users\me\Documents\Outlook Files\
D:\Photos\Picasa\Exports\Starred Photos\.picasa.ini
D:\Photos\Picasa\Exports\Collages\.picasa.ini
D:\Photos\Picasa\Collages\.picasa.ini
D:\Photos\template.jpg

Note:
Folder names need to end with a backslash (\) to differentiate them from files.
