I have a ton of photos that do not not have thumbnails. Under my Win 11 PC these images are void of any data corresponding to Dimension. Though they do have size data but that is not useful in my case.
If DCP5 could search for images without thumbnails somehow I believe it would one of the few software programs available that could do this function. Your tool would be indispensable for those who have a ton of photos co-mingled with (no-thumbnail images) and no way to sort them.
Please le know if DCP% can find images without thumbnails.

Can DCP5 find Images without Thumbnails?
Re: Can DCP5 find Images without Thumbnails?
You can add Thumbnails to your photos. Try this.
Download and install XnView MP
https://www.xnview.com/en/xnviewmp/
Mark some of your photos.
Choose Metadata from the Menu bar.
Choose EXIF Thumbnails > EXIF Thumbnail - Rebuild
I haven't tested this, but you can try this approach.

Re: Can DCP5 find Images without Thumbnails?
Duplicate Cleaner doesn't use the embedded thumbnails to scan the images, so it shouldn't be a problem. It can find images with and without thumbnails.
Re: Can DCP5 find Images without Thumbnails?
Thanks J-Toresen , Thank you for the great suggestion. I just downloaded XnView but unfortunately I am unable to rebuild the thumbnail because the option is greyed out.
Do you have any other ideas why the option is grey out. Dang, I was soooo close!
Let me know..

Re: Can DCP5 find Images without Thumbnails?
Is Windows Explorer, Properties "aware" of Thumbnails (embedded within a picture)?
Or can DC read EXIF Properties to know?
(I see where it can read various "Tags", but I do not see "thumbnail" particularly.)
I would suspect you could use ExifTool to search file files that do not contain thumbnails within?
It could be that Windows does not have a "property" that knows of "thumbnails"?
And if not, guess you would kind of have to use a tool like ExifTool.

Re: Can DCP5 find Images without Thumbnails?
I suspect that XnView is wanting to rely upon the existence of a thumbnail, where you are looking for the opposite - that the thumbnail does not exist.
I'll also note, & not that I particularly know about such things, that a "thumbnail" may exist in different "manners" in a file, I suppose depending on how the source actually wrote it? So something like "camera" used, or whatnot, could make a difference?

SOmeone else gave me a tip about using a MAC software called GraphicConverter 12. Have you used that?
